Happiest moments!!!

Edit 1 (04/04/08 10.40pm): Added NTU acceptance letter.

Never thought after I got home yesterday from Stagmont, I would receive this!

An offer letter from NUS Computing!!! Surprising since the application deadline of 1 April has yet to pass. Furthermore, I just applied only exactly two weeks ago with my mediocre A-Level results.

This is from the online page.

---
The general stages for the application status are
Application received --> Application processing --> Outcome of application

You have been offered Computing in academic year 2011 - 2012.
The details of the offer will be stated in the offer letter.
Your letter of offer was sent on 25-Mar-2009.
For acceptance of the NUS course that has been offered to you, please refer to the instructions enclosed in your offer package.
---

So if you haven receive your letter from NUS, you can check first if you have been accepted already. For those still pending, I wish all of you good luck.

As for me, I will be accepting this NUS offer. I have an SMU information systems interview on 7 April but I should be relinquishing the place there. Same for NTU. I have made my choice, now is to give up the acceptances of the other 2 so others have better chances.

Finally all these years, I formerly get a chance to study computers on a formal basis. I still remembered deciding between a poly IT course and JC. And once I entered JC, whether to take the computing subject. All these are over now, I have come one full circle back to my interest and I'm looking forward to my next phase of life after NS.

Just received the acceptance letter from NTU. No surprises on my part. But like I said above, I have already made up my mind for now. My choice is obvious.

--------------------------------------------------

Having completed the first of 7 weeks of my signals vocation, I must say, I'm gonna like it. When I heard I was training to be a vehicular signaller, I was so overjoyed!!! All my worries of carrying heavy signal sets just disappeared.

This week so far and the subsequent 6 weeks can be summarised into one word "mugging". As my former buddy puts it, its A-levels again, army style. Physical activities there are nothing near to what we had in Tekong. I get to bookout on Friday every week. Stagmont Camp really deserves its online nickname, "Slackmont" Camp.

One significant thing I noticed is the privates who posted in with me. With most of the potential commanders already in SISPEC or OCS, most of them just seem more "friendly" lah. Hardly any "wayang" people and I dun think there will be any backstabbers lah. After all, there is no point, we will never be commanders and the highest rank we can ever get is Corporal First Class. Today should be one of the best days of my life. Its easy to see why. Who is not happy getting what you want?
