Some random post on results

Just realised its almost a week since I last blogged, so I found something to keep my blog alive. Some haolianing again! Haha. Today's reading programme was to go through our mid-year GP essays.

So here was the first slide for my question.

I see the mark range I sian diao already. I was expecting my cyberspace essay to top the level for that question. Come on, with 35/50, the probability is close to 100%. So some guy/girl (probably guy) got that 36. Nvm, I will know who that is when the GP bulletin comes out!

--------------------------------------------------

Ever since the mid year results were duly known and computed, people have been comparing and commenting etc. I am not afraid to admit that I am one of the primary contributors to the discussion.

The final ranking including Mother Tongue are

1. Yanyu (70)
2. Chek Keng (68)
3. Jieyang and myself (66)

I'm not very happy that the school included our MTL results as a H1 subject as it distorts the result. Even if so, why not include PW score as well since its compulsory in the A-Levels? Not important to discuss this though.

Some people are seemingly not happy with their results despite being so good in that particular subject. Thats was why my MSN personal message was "Why do some people insist on looking at their results as 1/4 empty rather than instead of 3/4 full?" Its not intended to influence anyway. Its to let people realise their own strengths. As we are all different, we should not overly compare with each other.

I know I should be one of the last person to say this considering my relative position in class. But this is just the mid years. Some just choose to look at their failures and angonise over it without looking at the strengths they have.

I myself is quite lucky for passing my Chemistry (I believe I was pushed up to E). If I drop to S, minus 5 rank points and my standing will drop alot considering the close fight at the top end of the scale. Being one of the persistent Chem failures in class from the start of this year, passing Chem was a great relief! At least, I get more motivated to do better for my prelims.

Going back to block tests where my rank points was just 46 (without chinese). I was around the 9-10 position in class, barely a few positions away before my parents have to be called in. I did not allow myself to be demoralised over it. Whats more important is how much more effort you are willing to put in to secure even better results in the next exam and eventually the A's. Don't blame others for your failures or stigmatise them. (I am also changing my attitude in this area. I realised too its easy to fall into the same trap.)
