Passed NAPFA!

I passed my National Physical Fitness Award Scheme (NAPFA) today! A pass for male pre-enlistees in Singapore is defined as at least a silver award. To receive a silver award, one must attain at least a D grade in all the stations with one at least a C.

Here are my results.

Sit-up: 42 (B)
Standing Broad Jump: 220cm (D)
Sit-and-Reach: 38cm (D)
Pull-Up: 8 (B)
4x10m Shuttle Run: 10.2s (B)

2.4km run: 12mins 11s (D)

The two most suay stations are the Sit-ups and and shuttle run. The teacher in charge saw a mistake and disregarded my last sit-up so I end up 42, even my friend also could not "help" me. One more to A! The recorder also singled me out for not "trying harder". The shuttle run also, miss by 0.1s!

But I don't care. I passed the critical Standing Broad Jump on the dot with my first try! This is the only station that has been dogging me since primary school. My pass or fail has always hinged on this result. After all, your grade is based on your lowest score. Even if one get all As but one E, he gets a bronze!

Though I only went with the guys to the gym only once, it did help instill a sense of urgency in me. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement, especially to Wei Han and Chuen Hwee who came down despite not having to do so.

With this pass, I dun have to go for the extra 3 months Basic-Military Training (BMT)! Got more time to slack before NS! As to the three two remaining guys in my class who failed, just do your best for the next one. There is still one more chance, so train hard before it!
