Happy birthday to my blog!

I know this may sound odd though. My blog is neither a human being nor something tangible.

Its just a collection of binary bits stashed somewhere on a high-speed low-latency hard drive within Google's servers somewhere in Mountain View California, accessed via a set of IPv4 (could be IPv6 now) numbers converted to "http://the-lone-entity.blogspot.com" by one of the few DNS servers worldwide.

A whole chim load of computer jargon. Nvm, dun bother understanding it if you not as geeky as me. Its just that having participated in the blogosphere for exactly one year since 20 May 2007, has really changed me me more ways than one. My blog is like a diary to me, forever there, silently absorbing all my troubles and joys. It too helps to relay an occasional comment from others, from friends who care, and for some out to find trouble. Nevertheless, the outcome has been largely positive.

This being the 206th post, really shows how far I have come in expressing my thoughts, my beliefs and some other stuff I want my friends to know but cannot pluck up the courage to tell them in real life. Its been said that a blog can help one connect with old friends and maintain new ones despite not meeting them much in real life. I couldn't agree more. People like jAson and jocelyn for example ( I know both of you read my blog regularly), from secondary school , I see both of you like, once or twice since then? There are others though...

As to my current friends and classmates (too many to state here), I know alot of you read my blog regularly, just get into the habit of tagging and commenting to show that you do read and care. Yah... u know.... it really sux when it appears no one is reading.

Then one question that no one has asked, why the choice of this domain and title? Well, I actually intended "the insignificant observer" to be the domain but I was afraid it was too long and difficult to spell, so I relegated it as a title. I tend to see certain things others dun but not the obvious, so I can be blur sometimes. However, if you know what opinions I have, you will understand why I say "certain things".

I happened to think of "entity" as it was a word frequently used in computing circles to describe an unknown person, program or workstation. The word "lone" has no particular significance, I still dunno why the hell I used it but that name stuck since then. Dun misintepret it as a nerdish word, cos I am hell not a nerd though I may look like one xD. Use geek. haha. A geek is a sociable nerd and is much less derogatory!

Finally, I hope my personal blogging spirit can last me till its next birthday, and the next and the next to whoever knows when, my grave perhaps? Nah... I will take a wait and see approach. In the meantime, continue reading!
